I know the method for conflict resolution works. But does the saying in general hold any weight?

If we are using the term Nice guy, to mean the weird akward kid who obsesses over a girl in hopes she might date him and he might have a better reputation at school, then absolutely it holds true. but then really the statement is Creepy guys never get the girl.

Nice Guys Finish Last.

What is a nice Guy?

The nice guy truly is someone who is nice, who can say positive and uplifting things to people regularly. The Nice guy genuinely cares about others. The nice guy may not be the most attractive guy but he smiles early and often, being around him puts you in a better mood. The nice guy is not bitter, or pessimistic. The nice guy listens to others, not just girls.

If you can really be the Nice Guy, you will find yourself in good company.

Here are some examples.

Charles Schwab - He was the first person to make a salary of 1 Million Dollars a year. He made his money in the Steel and Rail Road Industry. He was not a Scientist, he was not a logistical guru, he was not an expert in Steel or Railroads, He was an expert in people. He even claimed that his smile was what got him success in his career. He was able to make people feel important. He was the Nice Guy and Did not by any means finish Last.

Martin Luther King Jr - Everyone is familiar with the famous Civil Rights Activist who changed the racial landscape in the United States with his famous I have a Dream speech. He stood up for what he believed in yes, he never backed down, he boldly stood up for Justice and Peace. When dealing with his supporters or detractors, when talking with the President, a Senator, Governor or Mayor, He treated them with no more and no less dignity than when he spoke to his plumber, his children, or his neighbor. No matter who you were he treated you with dignity. Even if you disagreed with him. He was a Nice Guy, He did not Finish Last

Gandhi - People are familiar with this famous Buddhist for the role he played in Gaining independence for the nation of India, from the tyrannical rule of the British Empire. He was unswerving in his dedication to not retaliating, not being bitter, remaining optimistic, and altogether changing the world. His Non-Violent Revolution is a great example of how the Nice Guy, Doesn’t Finish Last.

Jesus of Nazareth - He understood more than we can imagine the inner workings of the human mind. Everything he taught was on selflessness, Love, kindness, and Justice. Just the things that a Nice Guy would be. He was history’s perfect example of how to live. I have a feeling that, even though he was more optimistic than any of his disciples understood, He knew that there would be a saying one day “Nice Guys Finish Last” In anticipation of this, he tells us the lesson in the Gospel of Matthew chapter 20 of how to be successful. He says to be first you must become the last, to be the greatest you must become the least. He says, Nice Guys in the end, finish first. He was a Nice Guy, He did not Finish Last.

He wants you to be the Nice Guy, He wants you to finish First.

Can you do it? Can you be a Nice Guy?
